You can now purchase Mobile Aircrew Restraint Systems (MARS) online through the GSA’s Advantage!® procurement system.
Cobham through its distribution partner- Transaero Inc, has
received a US General Services Administration (GSA) contract that
allows the armed forces and other federal agencies to purchase
Mobile Aircrew Restraint Systems (MARS) online through the GSA's
Advantage!® procurement system.
Cobham's Mobile Aircrew Restraint System (MARS) was
developed to prevent highly mobile aircrew from being ejected
during a crash event, hard landing or rough weather when working
near open aircraft doors. The MARS which is currently flown in all
USAF HH-60G Pavehawks easily adapts to existing or emerging aircrew
harnesses or belts and increases aircrew comfort and safety by
eliminating webbing slack and allowing aircrew to concentrate on
their mission without constant strap length management. It
also minimizes tripping hazards during ground troop
insertion/extraction missions, and reduces aircrew-webbing
entanglement.
Now, with the inclusion in the GSA Schedule, MARS units can be
conveniently purchased by any DoD agency to prevent highly mobile
aircrew from being ejected during a crash event and to provide fall
protection when working near open aircraft doors or hatches.
The GSA product numbers are: 1855-012-04 - MARS with 63" webbing
and 1855-012-05 - MARS with 83" webbing, and can be purchased using
the contract No: GS-07F-6094R (ends in Sept 15, 2020). The warranty
is 1 year on the all systems and can be transportable to
location via air, sea or land. The MAS Schedule/SIN: 084/426
4F.
