SUREPAC compressor offers precise variable control for optimal performance and extended life.
Orchard Park, New York: Cobham Mission Systems introduces
SUREPACTM, its new pure air compressor system, to
the military aviation community at the Air Warfare Symposium (Booth
307).
SUREPAC is a smart, fully upgradeable compressor system that
dynamically manages power to
achieve high reliability and efficiency in weapons ejection and
other applications requiring high pressure, pure air
generation. Cobham's smart compressor system offers
significantly reduced life cycle and maintenance costs over
other high pressure cold gas generators and compressors
through the use of a proprietary algorithm
contained within the Smart Electronic Control Unit
(SmartECUTM). The SmartECU monitors actual compressor usage
and maximizes filter life by ensuring they are changed only
when needed. Also, through precise variable control of the
compressor speed, the system draws less power and runs cooler
for optimized performance and extended compressor
life. Modularly designed for ease of integration and
reconfiguration, the SUREPAC is fully upgradeable to 270 VDC
power requirements with a simple swap out of the SmartECU.
"Developing this technology is part of Cobham's strategy to
provide full spectrum weapons carriage and release offerings
and compliments our pneumatic bomb racks and ejection valves
already in the marketplace," said Tim Sopko, Vice President,
General Manager, Cobham Mission Systems.
"With this newly developed technology, Cobham now offers
complete weapons carriage, ejection,
launch and control solutions that can be tailored to customer
specific demanding requirements."
Cobham high performance compressor technology can be found in
products used in pneumatically actuated weapons carriage and
release systems and other applications including our
electronics cooling and personal microclimate cooling
systems.
