Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions is seeking a
Vice President
of Supply Chain Management. This role reports directly to the CAES Sector Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain and will be
responsible for leading Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Supplier
Development, Supply Chain Management, Master Scheduling and Planning
across the six Business Areas that comprise CAES. This role leads and
directs the Supply Chain function to ensure operational preparedness
and responsiveness to new markets, new capabilities and products, as
well as expansion of current business, while exemplifying exceptional leadership qualities to develop the internal team.
Efforts will primarily focus on directing the development,
communication and sustainment of an effective vision, strategy and
organizational plan for Supply Chain Management. This includes establishing short and long range strategic goals to ensure that company
policies and standards are applied and adoptions of best practices
occur across the sites. Successful
leadership of Supply Chain Management has an extreme significance to the overall success of the organization. Recommendations and
decisions will need to ensure optimal performance on company
projects in the area of time, human resources, customer
satisfaction, appropriate funding levels, achievement of
metrics, and key operational and financial measures.
The individual hired into this role will be responsible for crafting the right Supply Chain organizational
structure. While building collaborative relationships, the individual
will strongly underpin the optimization of the function across CAES to include innovative operations methodologies, while allocating resources to meet delivery and customer
requirements. In addition, this individual will establish the required
management systems and provide strong leadership to ensure the
effective performance throughout Operations, closely monitoring and adhering to cost, working capital, schedule KPIs, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
This role will be based remotely and location is flexible, with moderate travel between sites required.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the talent mix and organizational construct is optimal
to procure goods and services from suppliers on schedule and
within authorized cost levels, at the highest quality.
- Span of control involves strategic sourcing to tactical supply
chain operations and includes direct reports in strategic
sourcing, supplier quality, supplier development, and solid line
responsibilities for tactical supply chain operations at the
sites.
- Through liaison with site Operations and Program Management,
direct and execute supplier management strategies to ensure
on-time delivery of parts with highest quality and lowest cost,
thereby meeting all commitments relating to deliveries, quality
and cost, including make and buy decisions.
- Support the site SIOP processes to improve strategic planning
of inventory, utilization of factory resources, and drive
integrated executive alignment to improve customer satisfaction,
market share, and profit.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) in
line with required QA regulations.
- Develop and meet budgets. Improve financial performance
through inventory management/reduction, favorable payment terms
and leveraging spent across the sector to meet working capital
objectives.
- Develop and understand the drivers of material costs as a
percentage of revenue. Develop new means to reduce costs
while maintaining business objectives.
- Create new, or modify existing, business practices and
processes to address the dynamics of an evolving organization to
the benefit of the Sector’s growth.
- Foster Continuous Improvement activities within the Supply
Chain function, in concert with CI teams.
- Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit
opportunities for the Sector. Drive the Supply Chain
organization to help achieve 100% customer satisfaction,
on-time-to-promise deliveries, and product quality.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with other CAES
senior leaders and their functional areas. In addition, keeping the site VP/GM
informed of critical issues.
- Develop successors for senior organizational positions and
work with local management to ensure a robust talent pipeline
and career pathing, while proactively addressing capabilities of
the strategic talent pool.
- Foster effective relationships cross-functionally, at all
levels, to optimize collaboration and communication, strengthen employee engagement, and enhance
the work environment across the Sector.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business or a technical field
- 10+ years of Supply Chain and Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment to include a thorough understanding and application of FARS/DFARS and government procurement standards
- 5+ years of people leadership experience
- Lean certification OR experience having led Lean/Kaizen events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supply Chain certifications such as CSCP and CPIM
- Mechanical or electrical engineering experience
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong proposal experience in commercial and DoD applications
- ERP implementation experience
