Stockroom Supervisor-2nd Shift
San Diego, CA:
Oversee all activities of
the stockroom, including parts and material receiving, distribution and
shipping of high technology products in a team environment. Provide leadership,
direction, training, coaching and feedback to department staff to develop high
performance team. Actively participate in the planning, forecasting, reporting
and daily tracking of materials. Develop and implement continuous improvement
projects and procedures to improve inventory accuracy and schedule support. Carry
out tasks to support business goals in accordance with established policies and
procedures, local, state and federal applicable laws;
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:
Plan, assign, coordinate and review the work stockroom personnel for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift employees, including weekends; provide direction to personnel on proper inventory procedures and materials management processes, including reconciliation of cycle counts and semi-annual physical inventory; provide recommendations to improve processes; follow established company policies, procedures or other guidelines as they relate to assigned area; enforce systems, policies and procedures
Evaluate employee performance; make hiring recommendations, recommend disciplinary actions; approve vacations and time off; prepare work schedules and assignments; supervise the activities of assigned personnel; instruct staff in departmental policies and techniques.
Ensure accurate replenishment and perpetual inventory; resolve inventory discrepancies. Drive the expansion of floor stock inventories; assist in the implementation and maintenance of focused cells, point of use (POU), and supermarket setups; train stockroom personnel for quick response replenishment processes.
Prioritize kitting, monitor kit releases, audit kits to maintain trace-ability of backorders per company guidelines.
Perform complex SAP Shortage Simulation Analysis which includes exporting MSExcel data into customized SAP transaction. Create, review and report on production orders; review backorders for daily analysis; provide feedback to Material Planners for customer commitment purposes. Analyze inventory from production and/or development; monitor negative inventory on a weekly basis and reconcile discrepancies.
Review and analyze receiving of goods, cycle count adjustments, goods issued, and transfers to Mexico via SMR Process.
Develop, track and report visual Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) metrics for area such as daily and weekly kit release status; react to metrics by identifying and solving problems, making improvements and advancing process control.
Identify and document each critical process such as kitting, goods issue, goods receipt, and cycle counting, using value stream mapping, spaghetti analysis or other tools to optimize each process by removing non-value-added process steps.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Two-four years of experience in stockroom, inventory, materials, preferably n a high mix/low volume environment with several thousand part numbers and traceability requirements) with 2 + years as a supervisor, ideally of 12+ employee on multiple shifts; BS or BA degree in a related subject preferred.. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; planning, organizing and managing time to handle multiple assignments concurrently
