We are Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions (CAES), a technologically advanced electronics company employing more than 3,600 talented makers, thinkers, innovators, and doers nationwide. We build things that solve challenging problems from deep space to the depths of the ocean. We serve customers in spanning defense, aerospace, security, medical, and industrial markets.

The CNC/Manual Machinist will set-up, operate and make tool adjustments to cut and shape all types of metals using CNC and Manual  (e.g., lathes, millers and CNC), numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment.  They will work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks.  

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Machining aluminum, copper and brass parts.
  • Qualifying and machining piece part components, brazed assemblies and castings using Manual Milling Machines with Proto Trak and Mill Power controls.
  • Qualifying and machining piece part components, brazed assemblies and castings using CNC Machines with Fanuc controls. (Trak LPM model helpful)
  • Should be able to machine assemblies and piece parts to .0005 tolerance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • Should be familiar with geometric tolerances
  • Advanced knowledge of cutting tool nomenclature
  • Background in trigonometry
  • Basic computer skills
  • 7-10 years machining experience
  • Must be able to prove US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in microwave field
  • Knowledge of machining waveguides
