The Test Technician II performs operational tests and determines product
acceptability and quality on a wide variety of complex electronic developmental
and production components, subassemblies and systems by following test
specifications, standard test procedures or general written or verbal
instructions.
Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of
circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may
develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings
and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May
complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares
technical reports, summarizes findings and recommends solutions to technical
problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs
operational tests on a wide variety of moderately complex production
components, subassemblies and systems using data sheets, schematics,
wiring diagrams, established test specifications and standard test
procedures, which clearly outline procedures to be followed.
Sets
up and operates in accordance with prescribed procedures a variety of test
stands consisting of multiples of standard test equipment such as pulse
generators, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, counters, etc.
Works
with engineering instructions and standard test procedures to
operationally test developmental products as required.
Aligns
and adjusts subassemblies and/or systems in accordance with test
procedures and data sheets to comply with established specifications and
acceptable performance.
Interprets
test data and checks results against specifications, test procedures and
data sheets to determine proper functioning and quality of product.
Deviates
from standard test procedures as required to troubleshoot, locate and
diagnose malfunctions within the unit requiring application of technical
knowledge, skill and ingenuity. Realigns and readjusts unit as required.
Designates
rework instructions where necessary and retest work after rework.
Stamps
and otherwise approves test results. Records test data and submit test
failure/acceptance reports and notifies supervisor of unusual conditions
or undesirable trends.
Performs
other duties and responsibilities as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
2+years’ experience as a Test Technician in a
manufacturing environment or in the military
USA citizenship required due to government
contracts.
Must be able to obtain US Security Clearance
prior to the start of the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or Technical Degree in
Electrical Technology
Military Electronic Schools or Electronic
Training from military
Current Active Security Clearance
Four (4) years as a Test Technician in a
manufacturing environment or in the military
Experience in defense or aerospace industry
Experience tuning RF circuits
Should be able to setup and know how to operate
a Phase Network Analyzer (PNA) or Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
