Summary:
Develop digital design circuits such as interface and control,
calibration, waveform generation, etc. by using programmable logic
devices, including Field Programmable Gate Array’s (FPGA) and
Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) used in Integrated
Microwave Assemblies; apply appropriate standards, processes,
procedures and tools throughout the system developmental life cycle
to support the generation and documentation of digital hardware in
radio frequency applications.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Conceive the digital module development including
specifications, detailed design, simulation, analysis, component
selection, integration and testing; generate digital
specifications based on customer requirements.
- Create schematic for PWB designs for both digital and analog
specifications; design and integrate FPGA.
- Provide technical support for microwave engineers with
specification reviews, design proposals and integration,
including gathering, debugging and testing.
- Build, test and troubleshoot hardware.
- Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety
policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.
- Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for
improvements.
- Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as
well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional
problem solving.
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SET
team support as appropriate.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics
- Communication skills: ability to receive messages by
telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask
questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to
read, interpret and comprehend complex written and verbal
instructions; communicate across organizational levels; ability
to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write
reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability
to speak effectively present information and respond to
questions from groups of managers, clients and customers and the
general public; ability to communicate with quality, integrity
and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages
innovation and possibilities;
- Technical skills: knowledge of digital; knowledge of passive component and
semi-conductor device physics; knowledge of component
fabrication processes used in the microwave industry; knowledge
of the following design tools: Xilinx, Altera, or other CPLD and
FPGA design tools; knowledge of Hardware Description Languages
such as VHDL and Verilog;
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of related experience with knowledge of FPGA, digital and analog design;
Security:
- Required to obtain and maintain security clearance, which
requires USA Citizenship.
